Camelia Morman won the triple jump event at the prestigious Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Penn.--The East Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field squads took home a pair of first place honors during the Pirates participation in the prestigious 114th running of the Penn Relays over the weekend at historic Franklin Field.
On the men's side, Spencer Barrick won the javelin throw with a mark of 65.05m. The 4x200 meter relay team, consisting of Brandon Small, Christopher Richardson, Kevin Thompson and LePatrick Currie, came in fifth in the championships with a time of 1:25.55.
"Anytime you go to the Penn Relays and come back with wins is a huge success," head coach Curt Kraft said. "I give all the credit to the athletes. This weekend was a very pleasing experience in one of the finest meets in the country. We will now focus our attention on the final meet of the season before the Conference USA Championships, which are now just two weeks away."
The Pirates will travel to Durham this coming weekend for the final meet of the season before the C-USA Championships May 15-17 in El Paso, Texas.
