EL PASO, Texas - Chante Sessoms established a new personal record, earned NCAA Regional qualification and finished fourth with a 6.05-meter effort in the long jump to highlight East Carolina's second-day participation in the Conference USA Track & Field Championships at Kidd Field late Friday night.

Sessoms easily surpassed her previous best of 5.80 meters set at the Clemson Invitational earlier this season on April 8. Her advancement to a post-season regional is ECU's second after Chelsea Salisbury qualified in the hammer throw Thursday.

East Carolina (20 points) will enter the final day of competition tied for 10th with Tulane. Rice (45.50) currently holds a 5.50-point lead over Houston while Memphis (36) and UAB (35) are in third and fourth place.

Lindsey Rosales picked up the Pirates' highest finish of the day, standing second in the pole vault after clearing 3.65 meters. Danielle Eiler picked up 11th and 12th-place finishes in the shot put (12.57 meters) and javelin throw (33.58), respectively, while Salisbury was 10th in the javelin (35.11).

Two track athletes used strong preliminary performances to advance to Saturday's finals. Senior Terri Davenport will compete for the title in two events after finishing 7th in the 400 meters (personal-record of 55.68) and sixth in the 200 meters (23.99). In addition, Aisha Bilal-Mack qualified in the 400-meter hurdles after booking a third-place prelim heat time of 1:02.61.
