Aaron Walker joined the athletic department staff at East Carolina University in September of 2012. As an assistant strength and conditioning coach, Walker is responsible for training the soccer and volleyball teams, the pole vault and multi-events with track and field, as well as assisting with football.

Walker came to ECU after a stint at North Carolina Central where he served as the assistant strength and condition coach for the Eagles' football team. At NC Central he designed and implemented a comprehensive strength and conditioning program and worked with student-athletes on improving flexibility, strength, power, and nutrition.

Prior to his time at NC Central, Walker served as the head coach for strength and conditioning at Elon University where he oversaw the development of more than 350 varsity student-athletes in 16 varsity sports. He also maintained the budget, ordered necessary equipment, supervised two full-time assistants, collaborated with the athletic medical staff and administration on the development of the student-athletes, and developed and implemented the strength and conditioning programs for men's basketball, baseball, football, softball, and volleyball.

Walker owns an extensive list of experience training student-athletes and has spent time with the University of North Carolina and South Carolina State working in their respective strength and conditioning departments.

A 2002 graduate of East Carolina University, Walker was a member of the Pirates' football team for five years. The former ECU team captain earned his Bachelor's Degree in communication with a minor in child development and family relations. Following his graduation from ECU, Walker played football overseas in the German Football League where he was a starting nose guard for the Assindia Cardinals. He went on to work for the Cardinals as an assistant coach prior to working as an assistant football coach at Irmo High School in Columbia, S.C.

Walker and his wife Michaela, are the parents of AJ, Cady, and Ethan. The Walker family resides in Greenville, N.C.
