Molly Pyles is in her first season as an assistant volleyball coach at East Carolina University. She joined the ECU coaching staff prior to the 2006 season.
For the past year, Pyles has coached the Triangle Volleyball Club in the Raleigh area. She coached both the 14 & under team as well as the 18 & under squad.
A 2005 graduate of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Pyles was a four-year outside hitter for the Tar Heels. She currently ranks third all-time at UNC in digs, is second in kill attempts, and fifth in dig average. She was named to the All-ACC first team as a senior and the second team as a sophomore and a junior. The psychology major was also named to the 2004 ACC All-Tournament team.
While at North Carolina, Pyles helped lead the Tar Heels to a four-year record of 95-40 (.704), and an ACC Championship from 2001-04.
Pyles comes from an athletic family. Her father, Jerry, is a former Georgetown basketball player, while her sister Amy was a volleyball player at Wake Forest and her other sister Bethany played volleyball at Furman.
