Jackie Simpson, who earned All-America accolades as a setter at Wisconsin, joined the volleyball program at East Carolina University in 2011 and is in her second season with the Pirates.
"I am very excited to have Jackie Simpson officially join our program," Rolf said. "She has experienced great success as a player and coach at many different levels of the game. With Jackie, I believe we have assembled a top-notch coaching staff. Our women will benefit greatly from what she has to offer both on and off the court."
Simpson worked with the team for the second half of the 2010 season as a volunteer coach and will begin her pursuit of a master's degree at ECU this fall.
"I am thankful for the opportunity to join the ECU volleyball family," Simpson said. "I have great respect for Coach Rolf and am excited to continue to learn from her. I have witnessed the continuous hard work the athletes and the staff put into building this program and I am honored to be a part of it."
