Diggin' Deep with East Carolina Volleyball
Jan. 10, 2012
Greetings Pirate Nation!
My high school coach wrote me a note after the final match of my senior year that I still keep with me today. It closed by simply stating, "Do the best you can, then do more". There is no doubt in my mind that this concept rings true with the players and coaches of the East Carolina Volleyball program. I am just as excited and just as proud to be a part of this team as I was my first day on campus.
This group is one of the hardest working teams I have had the opportunity to coach and they do so all in order to represent Pirate Nation both on and off the court. They are excellent in the classroom across many different majors and they volunteer what little free time they have to help in the community. I have seen firsthand that this program is about so much more than just volleyball. It is about developing strong young women who will continue on as leaders in their future endeavors. It is an honor to be a part of that.
I am excited for spring training to begin and to continue working with Coach Rolf. I also look forward to continuing my master's program in sports psychology here at ECU. The faculty and staff I have had the opportunity to work with are amazing. I have learned so much in such a short time and I am excited about what this spring has to offer.
Finally, I would like to thank our fans and supporters who have continued to join us on this journey. Your support is instrumental in the growth of our program and the sport of volleyball in general.
