GREENVILLE, N.C. - Carleigh Green will join the volleyball program beginning in the fall of 2012, according to an announcement Friday by head coach Pati Rolf.

A four-year scholar athlete and honor roll student, Green is finishing her senior year at Bishop Ready High School in London, Ohio where she has competed for the varsity squad since her freshman season. This past campaign, the Silver Knights captured the regional title and advanced to the final four of the state tournament. Green picked up a school single-season record 413 digs and was successful on 380 serve-receive attempts.

"Carleigh brings a strong competitive spirit to the court and will be a nice addition to our defensive unit," assistant coach Jackie Simpson said. "She is a vocal player who can create high levels of energy and increase communication levels within her team."

Green helped Bishop Ready to district championships her freshman and junior seasons while the Silver Knights were the runner up in her sophomore year. In her second prep year, she was named defensive player-of-the-year and earned a spot on the all-district team.

The following season, Green was selected to the Ohio Valley High Performance Team along with repeating as an all-district honoree. Her final campaign rewarded her with a number of accolades, including All-Central Catholic League laurels, All-Central District honors, All-Ohio designation and another selection to the Ohio Valley High Performance Team.

Green earned four varsity letters at Bishop Ready and served as a team captain. She plans to major in finance upon her arrival at ECU.
