GREENVILLE, N.C. - After Serving as an assistant coach for two seasons, Katie Baggett is leaving the East Carolina volleyball program according to an announcement by head coach Pati Rolf Monday.

Baggett, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Grace Ann, on Aug. 3, is relocating with her family to Jacksonville, N.C., where her husband Mason has taken a full-time position at the Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base.

"I truly enjoyed my time with Pirate Athletics," Baggett said. "I appreciate the many relationships I have formed with the athletes, athletic department staff, members of the Pirate Nation and supporters of ECU Volleyball. I wish only the best for the team and will continue to support the program as I pursue this new opportunity with my family."

Rolf and current assistant coaches Jeri Estes and Jackie Simpson have led the squad through preseason workouts since Aug. 9. The Pirates officially open their 2011 campaign Friday, Aug. 26 against Gardner-Webb at Minges Coliseum.
