RICHMOND, Va. - The East Carolina volleyball team, after splitting a pair of matches yesterday at the VCU Invitational, takes on the host Rams tonight at 6 p.m. at the Siegel Center.

The Pirates fell victim to a three-set comeback by Wright State in the first contest Friday, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Raiders before responding with a big 3-1 victory over 2008 Big East co-champion St. John's in the afternoon session.

Sophomore Britney Roper set career highs with 20 kills and five aces against the Red Storm while senior Stephanie Turner recorded a double-double in both tilts. Defensively, redshirt sophomore Nicole Jones collected 32 digs, including a personal-best 17 in the match with the Raiders.

VCU took both of its affairs at the event yesterday, rallying for a 3-2 triumph over Temple before dispatching St. John's by a 3-1 score.
