Jannusch Named C-USA Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore outside hitter Katie Jannusch earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sept. 7. It is ECU's first ever C-USA Volleyball Player of the Week award.

Jannusch, a native of Geneva, Ill., led the Pirates to a 3-1 record last week, notching a .430 attack percentage with only eight errors, while averaging 58 points per game. She was named to the all-tournament team at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Invitational hosted by Furman.

She recorded a career-high 18 kills, while also notching a career-best .739 hitting percentage against Gardner-Webb in the Pirates' 3-0 win. She added 12 kills against in the 3-0 win over UNC Wilmington, nine kills and 10 digs against Birmingham-Southern and 12 kills and 10 digs against Furman.For the week, Jannusch compiled 51 kills, 36 digs and six blocks. She helped ECU to a 20-game win streak before the Pirates lost its first game of the season against Furman.

East Carolina's 6-1 mark is its best start under head coach Colleen Munson.
