Krug Named to Academic All-America District III Team
11/11/2004

GREENVILLE, N.C. --East Carolina sophomore Heidi Krug (Kildeer, Ill.) has been named to the second-team 2004 Academic All-America Volleyball District III University Division Team, announced today by College Sports Information Directors of America.

Krug, a business major, was named to the second team while compiling a cumulative GPA of 4.0. While at ECU, she has been named to the Chancellor's List in the fall of 2003 and the spring of 2004 for having a GPA of 4.0. She has also made the 2003-2004 Conference USA honor roll for having a 3.0 GPA or better and the 2004 C-USA Commssioner's Academic Medal for having a 3.75 GPA or better.

To be eligible for the prestigious award, a player must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 in the classroom and be a starter or key reserve on the volleyball court.

Krug currently leads the team in set assists with 1,054, service aces with 31, and is second on the team with 191 digs this season.

"I'm very excited for Heidi," said ECU head coach Colleen Munson. "She has worked just as hard in the classroom as she has on the court. This is a tremendous honor for her and our program."
