GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina head volleyball coach Colleen Munson has announced the signing of two players for the 2004 season. Kim Jefferson and Kelley Wernert both signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period.

"We are very excited to have Kelley and Kim join our program. Both Kim and Kelley have had stellar high school careers and we look forward to their future with East Carolina," Munson said.

Jefferson, a 5-11 outside hitter/middle blocker from Laurel Hill, N.C., is a senior at Scotland High School where she was an all-conference selection as a junior and senior and earned honorable mention for most valuable player. She chose ECU over Auburn, Clemson and N.C. State.

Wernert, a 6-0 outside hitter/right side from Hoffman Estates, Ill., is a senior at Schaumburg High School where she earned all-conference and all-area honors. She was named to the Glenbard East all-tournament team and was an AAU all-american.
